1967. This year, more than any other of the 1960’s, encapsulated the fantastic explosion of new and amazing music which was slowly making its way across the United States! The ‘West Coast Sound’ blasted out of radio stations, speakers and television shows around the country and one band and its lead singer stood triumphantly at the forefront of this movement.

By the time the ‘Summer of Love’ arrived, The Doors… and Jim Morrison himself, had climbed to the top of the charts and brought a new sense of danger and excitement to a genre of music which was teetering on the edge of mediocrity. Studio produced ‘Pop’ singers and bands had taken over the airwaves, and it took a two pronged attack from The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” in June of 1967 and The Doors’ ‘Light My Fire’ in July 1967 to bring this corporate behemoth to a grinding halt and usher in a new age of bands who would be appreciated for the art and albums they created and not the 3-minute ‘radio song’ which had become so prevalent.

Compiled here for the first time, Wonder Twin Records proudly presents, “The Doors ‘67” recordings, arranged chronologically, including all known and available 1967 recordings in the best available sound quality [which at times you will have to forgive for sake of inclusion and historical relevance], as well as all four Doors ‘A-Side’ singles from 1967 in their original mono! Many of the tracks included here are pitch corrected for the first time and remastered for a brand new listening experience.
